May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to elevate conversations, challenge stigma, and recommit ourselves to building a healthier, more compassionate community.
At Community Connections (CCI), we have the privilege of walking alongside individuals whose life journeys include mental illness, addiction, trauma, housing instability, and recovery. Every day, we witness resilience. Every day, we see recovery in action. And every day, we are reminded that healing happens best in community.
On May 12, 2026, we invite you to join us at Community Connections for a special Mental Health Awareness Month gathering. Together, we will:
- Celebrate stories of recovery and hope
- Highlight the growing behavioral health needs in our community
- Share how partnerships are expanding access to care
- Reaffirm our collective responsibility to ensure no one faces mental health challenges alone
CCI provides a broad portfolio of services, including behavioral health treatment, housing and supports, street outreach, residential care, and care coordination. Demand for these services continues to grow across the District. Yet, many of the most critical supports that stabilize lives and strengthen families are not fully funded through traditional sources.
Your sponsorship or donation during Mental Health Awareness Month directly strengthens:
- Unfunded clinical and recovery supports
- Flexible housing assistance
- Outreach and engagement efforts
- Crisis stabilization resources
- Community-based programs that reduce stigma and increase access
This is not simply a fundraising moment, it is an opportunity to stand publicly for mental health, equity, and recovery.
Together, we are building a community where recovery is possible, dignity is protected, and hope is restored.
With gratitude and partnership,
